GOODYEAR TOPS FORTUNE'S GLOBAL MOST ADMIRED LIST
Top in Motor Vehicle Parts Industry

SHAH ALAM, 12 March 2008 – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has been recognized as the world's most admired motor vehicle parts company by Fortune magazine. Goodyear topped the list of leading companies in four key attributes: innovation, people management, use of assets and global orientation.

Among motor vehicle parts companies in the Fortune Most Admired Companies in the Americas list, Goodyear was also judged the best in regard to innovation and the quality of its products and services.

"This recognition by our industry peers is something for which we are extremely proud,” said Robert J. Keegan, Goodyear chairman and chief executive officer. "Not only did Goodyear lead our industry category, but we were ranked well ahead of our global tire competitors,” he added.

"When you think about where we were five years ago – nowhere near the top of this list, and in fact not even on the radar – you see the results of outstanding execution by Goodyear associates around the globe against the strategic drivers of our business.”

Keegan said the acknowledgement of Goodyear's innovation is, likewise, the result of the company's commitment to its strategy and a testament to its successful new products.

"We are passionate about innovation and quality,” he said. "Our associates are innovating across every facet of our business, not just the new product stream.”

"Goodyear is becoming an influential corporate leader in Asia,” said Pierre E. Cohade, President of Goodyear's Asia Pacific Region. "This award both confirms that we are headed in a positive direction and endorses our leadership position. Every single one of our associates in Asia contributed to this achievement and should be very proud.”

The distinction follows on the heels of the 22 February 2008 recognition by The Wall Street Journal for automotive category leading stock performance and shareholder return for the past five years and recent acknowledgement that Goodyear was among the Top 100 Corporate Citizens selected by Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine.

In Asia, this award will be added to an ever expanding list for Goodyear including two years in a row as one of Shanghai, China's Top 24 Employers in 2007 and 2008, bestowed by the China Business Network; Most Trusted Brand in Asia, according to a 2007 global survey by TNS – an independent leading research firm worldwide; 2007 Best Corporate Citizen from the Dalian, China Municipal Government; and the Philippines Platinum Most Trusted Brand by Reader's Digest.

"We see these achievements as both validation of our strategic direction and continuation of our positive momentum,” Keegan said.

The Fortune Most Admired lists are considered "the definitive report card on corporate reputations.” They use a rigorous assessment of industry executives, board directors and securities analysts to determine a company's overall reputation.

Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies. The company employs about 70,000 people and manufactures its products in more than 60 facilities in 26 countries around the world.
